Part of the Oregon University System, Portland State University offers excellent higher education in a stimulating metropolitan environment, as well as high quality research, teaching and outreach programs. The university delivers a diverse academic experience at eight colleges and schools, offering 51 bachelors, 61 masters and 12 doctoral degrees in a variety of disciplines and majors, including business, urban planning, social work, and education.
PSU's vibrant 50-acre campus in downtown Portland offers activities, events, athletics, arts, and programs that help students develop social, intellectual and creative lives. The Portland State Vikings compete in men's and women's basketball, cross country, football, track, wrestling, golf, soccer, softball, and volleyball.

Waking Tours -

Led by students, PSU offers weekday 75-minute walking tours providing an overview of the history of PSU, a chance to see a residence hall and get into the undergraduate experience. Students are also given the opportunity to visit locations on campus pertinent to their specific department of interest and graduate studies.

Oregon’s only urban university, the 50-acre PSU campus in downtown Portland is the heart of Portland's urban core and places students in the center of business, technology and culture. Students have the opportunity to participate in community-based projects and a broad selection of internships.


Where is the best place to park for guests?

PSU offers visitor parking by the hour, day or week and is available on a first-come, first served basis. Limited street metered parking is available by the hour.

What is the best time to visit campus to get a feel for a normal day?

Preview Day for Freshmen is held in November and provides high school students the opportunity to explore PSU’s diverse urban campus and academic curriculum. Registration is required. If you would like to attend Preview Day, call 503-725-5555.
