Portland Art Museum

One of the oldest museums in the country, the Portland Art Museum showcases an impressive permanent collection and ambitious touring exhibitions of American, European, Asian, Native American and Modern & Contemporary art. Explore 112,000 square feet of beautiful galleries and the Sculpture Court with more than 42,000 objects, reflecting the history of art from ancient times to today.
The galleries of Native American art and Northwest art are the museum's most distinguished displays. The cornerstone of Portland's cultural district, the Museum's campus includes the Jubitz Center for Modern and Contemporary Art, Gilkey Center for Graphic Arts, and the Northwest Film Center, which presents an eclectic mix of films.

Hours -

The Museum is open six days a week, 10 AM to 5 PM, with evening hours on Thursdays and Fridays, when its open 10AM- 8 PM. Sundays the museum opens at noon.

The Museum Shop -

Browse the Museum Shop for eclectic gifts and souvenirs or pick up a catalogue for special exhibitions. The Museum Shop has one of the best selections of art books in the city. Customers may enter through the Hoffman Entrance near the Roberts Memorial Sculpture Mall and admission is free.

Public & Group Tours -

The Museum offers public tours from the Park Avenue entrance at 12:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, evening tours on Thursdays at 6 p.m., and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Sundays also feature a family tour at 12:30 p.m. Fun docent-led Family Tours are offers Sundays at 12:30 p.m. at the front lobby.
Group tours for 12 or more are available for $11/person with 2-week advanced reservations at groups@pam.org. Free School tours are also available.

FAQs

Is there anywhere to eat inside the museum?


The Museum Grounds Coffee Shop serves coffee drinks and art-inspired treats made from local bakers. Food and drinks are permitted only in the Museum Grounds coffee shop and may not be carried into the galleries, auditorium, or other areas.

Are there free days?


The Portland Art Museum offers free admission on the fourth Friday of every month from 5-8 p.m. The Museum also offers free admission and special family programming several times a year.
