Signature Suites at the Heathman Hotel Portland

Literary Arts Suite -

The Literary Art Suite is a celebration of the Heathman Hotel's long time partnership with Literary Arts of Oregon and The Arts & Lecture Series. Since 1984, Arts & Lectures has brought leading authors, historians, artists and critics to our community to discuss their work and the trajectory of contemporary culture

The Heathman Hotel - Portland, Oregon Bluevine Studio, a local sourced design build-firm, carefully crafted this room, and all of our signature suites, to inspire the artistic and literary mindset. As you settle into the deeply lofted leather couch, you will be reminded of the old exclusive studies of scholarly professors and meditating authors. Relaxing and thought provoking, the Heathman Hotel's Literary Art suite will elegantly encourage the process of creation.

When booking the Literary Arts Suite you support the multitude of literary non-profits across the city of Portland as a portion of your room charge will be donated to these organizations.

Center Stage Suite at The Heathman Hotel - Portland, Oregon

Portland Center Stage Suite -

In celebration of Portland Center Stage's pivotal role in our city and region, The Heathman Hotel was inspired to shine the performance spotlight on their overarching commitment. Now in its 25th season, Portland Center Stage (PCS), with Artistic Director, Chris Coleman, is the largest producing theater in Portland. The Gerding Theater at the Armory has been PCS's home since Fall 2006, as well as being the first performing arts venue to achieve a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum rating.

You are the star in our Portland Center Stage Suite. Enjoy the artful handmade costumes by costume designer Jeffrey Cone and imagine being the lead in a great comedy by Molière! Follow the stage door straight to the spotlight - "You're on…"

A portion of your room revenue will be donated directly to Portland Center Stage's education and community outreach programs.
Fine Arts Suite at The Heathman Hotel - Portland, Oregon

Fine Arts Suite -

In 1984, The Heathman Hotel was the first luxury, art dedicated, boutique hotel to open in Portland. The Heathman has an outstanding collection that features a well-balanced and beautiful mix of historic, modern and contemporary art. Personally curated by Elizabeth Leach, from the Pearl District distinct gallery of the same name, the Heathman's Fine Art Suite exhibits the most influential and stunning art in the collection.

As soon as you flip the light switch in The Heathman Hotel's Fine Art Suite you will be illuminated by a phenomenal light installation by Portland born Hap Tivey. This unique and abstract piece paints the room with color. A sensational relief painting by local artist Joe Thurston engages the visitor by questioning the basis of creative inspiration and execution. The works by filmmaker Gus Van Sant are fun and exuberant and excel at bringing some lighthearted fun into the space.

A portion of your room revenue will be donated to The Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA). This support will help PNCA actively participate in Portland's cultural life through its fine art and design degrees and vibrant public program of exhibitions, lectures and internationally recognized visual artists, designers, and creative thinkers.
Symphony Suite at The Heathman Hotel - Portland, Oregon

Oregon Symphony Suite -

The Oregon Symphony, the oldest symphony in the Western United States, has been entertaining audiences for over 100 years. Music Director Carlos Kalmar and the Orchestra now boast a growing national reputation, sparked by their recent Carnegie Hall debut which was described by The New Yorker as "one of the most gripping concerts of the current season."

This suite is intricate and evocative, with enough treble and bass to tune to any ear. As you rest your head, Music Director, Carlos Kalmar will lull you to sleep, with his arms raised high, ready for a stay worthy of a standing ovation. The Heathman Hotel's Oregon Symphony Suite is an aria of great proportions. The melodic scheme of this room is centered on the cello sculpture with ginkgo leafed branches emerging for the body. This was melded and specifically design-built, by Bluevine Studio, to represent the inspiration surrounding us in the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

The Heathman Hotel has supported the Oregon Symphony for many years and has been recognized by Business for Culture and the Arts for our sustained financial commitment. You make the difference, as a portion of the room revenue from the Oregon Symphony Suite is donated directly to the Symphony's Kids and Education Missions.

The Signature Suites represent a small token of our appreciation for the role arts, culture, and creativity have in our community and communities across the globe. The Heathman Hotel was the first luxury boutique hotel to open in Portland in 1984. Sited in a renovated historic hotel built in the 1920s, the Heathman is situated in the heart of Portland's downtown cultural district and was designed to be the arts hotel for the city

We want to specifically thank the teams at Portland Center Stage, Literary Arts of Oregon, the Oregon Symphony, the Oregon Historical Society, the Elizabeth Leach Gallery, costume designer Jeffery Cone, artist Hap Tivey, artist Joe Thurston, Powell's Books, artist Tim Chilina, and our design-build firm of Bluevine Studio for bringing these rooms to life!
