Portland Institute for Contemporary Art - Portland Institute for Contemporary Art explores and supports experimental art and new music in Portland. Portland Center Stage - In its 19th season, Portland Center Stage {PCS} is the city's leading professional theater company and one of the 25 largest regional theater companies in the nation. PCS produces a blend of classical, contemporary and premiere works in addition to its annual summer playwright’s festival, Just Add Water/West, in its 7th year at the 599-seat Gerding Theater at the historic Portland Armory. Founded in 1989, Oregon Ballet Theatre offers the highest quality ballet, in a repertoire of classic and contemporary work, to the people of Oregon, the Pacific Northwest and the US. In addition to creating four world premieres, including OBT’s first full-length Swan Lake in 2006, Artistic Director Christopher Stowell has commissioned works by internationally prominent artists. Artists Repertory Theatre - Artists Repertory Theatre is Portland’s oldest professional theater company, dedicated to challenging artists and audiences with plays of depth and vibrancy in an intimate environment. Oregon Symphony - The Oregon Symphony is presented at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in downtown Portland's Cultural District. Since the Oregon Symphony was established more than 100 years ago, it has been recognized for its internationally acclaimed music directors, skilled performers, diverse programs and outstanding community services in education and regional touring. Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall - The beautifully restored, 2,776-seat Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, opened in 1984 and originally built in 1928, plays host to a variety of presentations including classical, jazz, pop, rock, folk and gospel music, dance, theatre, travel films, and events. The Italian Rococo Revival architecture - which features original chandeliers renovated and fitted with new crystal in rococo-style lobby - is a national showcase of renowned Chicago theatre architects.
