Portland’s Charming Tea Court. Relax and enjoy afternoon tea in our charming Tea Court. The historic Tea Court Lounge, an original feature of the luxury boutique Heathman Hotel, blends eucalyptus-paneled walls with a marble fireplace, art work from the Vanderbilt Estate and an Austrian hand-cut crystal chandelier. The firelight and warm colors provide an intimate atmosphere for cocktails, light dining and afternoon tea. Live jazz is performed Wednesday through Saturday night with no cover charge.The tea menu offers traditional Afternoon Tea and Peter Rabbit Tea for Little Sippers. The tea menu, created by pastry chef John Gayer, includes Smoked Salmon Napoleon, Paté Maison, John’s Famous Fruit Cake, and Parisian Opera Cake, along with a wide selection of teas from Fonte Coffee and Tea Company, a Northwest micro roaster based in Seattle. The children’s tea menu sports the whimsical Ants on a Log with celery, peanut butter and raisins, as well as Snikerdoodle, Devil’s Food Chocolate Cupcake and Peanut Butter and Honey sandwich.
An icon of Portland, The Heathman Hotel’s Tea Court is located in the heart of the hotel, and has been painstakingly restored to its original splendor. Live jazz performances take place every evening, Wednesday through Saturday. Advanced reservations are required for High Tea, and can be made at The Heathman Hotel Restaurant and Bar.
