Portland owes much of its national and international dining reputation to acclaimed chef, James Beard. The "father of American gastronomy," Chef James Beard, grew up in Oregon, and it was Oregon's bounty that inspired his love of food.
Mr. Beard spoke and wrote often of the Pacific Northwest's fresh regional ingredients: seafood, pears, apples, berries, hazelnuts, wild game, and vegetables. Executive Chef Stanton partners with the region’s select growers, producers, and vintners to serve the highest quality ingredients.The Heathman Restaurant also offers casual dining in the adjacent Marble Bar and Tea Court, intimate dining settings with fresh hand-squeezed cocktails and live jazz Wednesday through Saturday. Our sidewalk patio is open seasonally and offers great atmosphere during the summer months.

Every evening, Wednesday through Saturday, you can enjoy Portland's finest live jazz, spirited cocktails and light fare in a warm, inviting setting. An icon of Portland, the Tea Court has been restored to its original splendor. Sip tea by the marble fireplace, surrounded by artwork from the Vanderbilt Estate.

Director of Culinary Affairs, Chef Philippe Boulot showcases the food-wine connection by offering winemaker’s dinners, tasting events, and seasonal wine flights.
