Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, for April, Front Desk Supervisor - Nathan!
Join us in congratulating Nathan, our April Employee of the Month! He has been with the Heathman for nearly 7 1/5 years and will be departing soon to pursue a Master's Degree in London England! He is an avid backpacker and hiked the impressive Wonderland Trail in 2011, which is part of the well-known Pacific Crest Trail. He enjoys keeping in shape by hiking in the Columbia River Gorge, the Coastal Range and, of course, Forest Park. His next adventure will be a week long trek tracing Hadrian's Wall which is the ancient Roman wall built to keep the invading Scots out of Southern England! As Nathan begins planning for his next experience in the UK he looks back and reflects on the best part of his time at the Heathman:
"I have heard world class violinists practicing in their room, I have seen famous artists doodle on scratch pads, and had renowned storytellers tell me about their taxi ride from the airport. Art is all around us every day, and I love to experience it as it happens, free from the constraints of museums and galleries."
Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, for February, Ross Youngman!
Ross is more than a time honored and respected employee, he's a joy to work with! He has been in customer service for more than 20 years and has worked as such places as The Greenwood Inn in Beaverton and adidas! Born in Hilo, Hawaii he enjoys returning to the islands and enjoying time with his fiancée. Currently he spends most of his free time planning for his upcoming nuptials, but also loves going out to hear great music and experiencing delicious food and new beer hot spots! His favorite part of working at the Heathman is the people and the interactions he get to experience with the guests, and peers, alike! If he could take off and travel anywhere he would love to return to Thailand or Bali.
Congratulations to our Employee of the Month, for January, Steven Pickering!
Steven has been working at The Heathman just under a year yet his standard of service and dedication to the hotel is outstanding. Before the Heathman, Steven spent time at The Hotel Monaco and Bonneville Power Administration headquarters in Portland. Born and raised in Portland, it is no surprise that he is a great admirer of the outdoors. He enjoys spending his free time fishing and working on his boat or exploring the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Steven remarks that the best part about working at the Heathman is the constant learning and excitement in his job - truly never a dull moment! His dream vacation would be to fly fish remote streams in Montana of travel to Alaska to hook a massive Salmon, Halibut or Dolly Varden Trout. Congrats to Steven - you deserve it!
